   Describe the signs, symptoms and principles of emergency care for pelvis, hip, and femur injuries.

    Assess and immobilize pelvis, hip, and femur injuries using various immobilization devices.

 

Station IV:     I Can…

    Use proper BSI and scene safety procedures

    Perform a rapid body survey on an unresponsive patient.

    Perform a rapid body survey on a severely injured patient.

    Perform a focused trauma survey on a responsive patient.

    Manage hypothermia and frostbite on an injured patient.

Station II:    I Can…

    Use proper BSI and scene safety procedures.

    Describe the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, the characteristics of neurological injuries, and the concepts of mechanism of injury as they relate to neurological injuries.

    Describe the assessment and physical appearance of patients with head, spine, and spinal cord injury.

    Demonstrate how to assess, immobilize, and manage patients with head and/or suspected spinal cord injury.

                 Pocket Masks Suctioning Assisted Ventilations

    Properly assemble and disassemble all O2 equipment.

    Obtain vital signs rapidly and accurately.

    Perform a focused history and physical exam on a responsive trauma patient.

    Perform a rapid body survey.

    Use proper BSI and scene safety procedures.

    Perform a scene survey and determine possible injuries due to MOI.

    Determine resources needed to manage patient/situation.

    Determine emergency care and transportation required.

    Anticipate problems I might encounter as I manage the scene.

    Discuss my possible solution in a guided discussion format.

    Listen to other possible solutions.

    Offer constructive feedback to all suggested solutions in guided discussion format.
